It seems like I’ve been a musician as far back as I can remember. From listening to my Mother pick out melodies by ear to my Aunt playing in a North Carolina church for over 40 years, I had talked my parents into my first piano by the age of 8 (just finally let that piano go about 5 years back). I was baptized in Sauldam Baptist, Charleston, South Carolina around that same age. My first public performance ever was in the Church on piano. Trombone playing led to tuba in the High School marching band led to bass guitar.

Many years and rock bands later I still had not reached the "rock star" status I had hoped for. I began to think that my family and music was all a waste of time. Then I realized that I really had no choice all along. I was to do work for God or lose everything I thought was important. No surprise, God was right there waiting for me!

I’m very lucky to have found my current church, The Journey (journey-on.org). We are very small but have a very good group of musicians and a strong spritual team. I feel truly blessed to have found Beyond Blue, it has been a way to incorporate all that is important to me and a way to spread His message through the joy of music.

If I am not out surfing, I hope to meet you at an upcoming concert and share the joy God has brought to me and my family.
